I have been drawing and painting since I could hold a crayon, so I feel like I have always been an artist. Inspiration is everywhere, from color and shape to light and reflections.

My childhood was spent at Marine Corps bases along the east coast and in Panama. We moved many times until my dad retired when I was 15, and even a couple times after that. Learning as a young child that there was a whole world out there beyond what I saw on a daily basis was a gift that had an impact on me as both a person and artist. I believe I see things differently than I would have if I had lived in one place.

My favorite medium is oil, but I will use anything I can draw or paint with. I use a variety of media because I will get bored if I stick to just one. I think this has a lot to do with moving so much. Each medium is a different experience that allows me to express who I am in that particular moment.

As for subjects I like painting, just as with media, sticking to one subject or style bores me, so it frequently changes. While this brings a lot of differences to my art, I see a commonality in them all. Each piece is an expression of some part of who I am, which is a combination of all the places and people that make up my story.
