Robert "Bob" Schroder

Bob Schroeder's resume includes an eight year career in professional baseball, highlighted in 1965 to 1968 when he was an infielder with the San Francisco Giants. Always interested in art, he has transformed his passion for painting into a highly successful career. He has been represented in galleries from Georgia to Mississippi, and has works in public and private collections throughout the South.

Trained in the classical style, he imparts his Traditional View to contemporary subjects: still life’s, home portraits, landscapes, seascapes, animal portraits, etc. "Atmospheric" is the word that best describes his work and which makes his oil paintings instantly recognizable.

"There are many valued avenues that art can take, but from my first day at the easel I was drawn to oils, the richness of the Old Masters, as well as to the magnificent lighting effects of the American Luminists. Whether it involves trees coming towards the viewer out of morning mists or a ray of light causing a silver goblet to sparkle, atmospheric perspective and dramatic lighting is what inspires me the most."

Bob was represented by the Left Bank Art Gallery in the Sea Island area of Georgia in the 1980's and 90's. Due to other work commitments, he was forced to take what turned out to be a thirteen year sabbatical from the art world but is now working full time in his studio. He is a member of Oil Painters of America and the South Mississippi Art Association.

His oil paintings are available in the price range of $750.00 to $2500.00, and commissions are welcomed.
